Drupal Search Engine Optimization (a first attempt)

Proof that it works!

How to make a Drupal website work for you...

I've taken a good look at Drupal search engine optimization this week. On one of my previous blogs I mentioned that I was frustrated with the amount of websites that are on the web but just don't do anything. They aren't generating sales or driving traffic to the site... just sitting there doing nothing!

So, to put an end to my frustrations I started looking at how how to make websites work... what is it that makes a website successful?

There's a couple of ways to measure success for a a website...
One - Sales Directly from the website
Two - The amount of hits on the site

However, because a lot of websites aren't trying to sell a specific product I've decided the best place to start is looking at how to increase site traffic.

I looked through the stats on a few sites about where the majority of users were coming from. On almost every site I looked at the amount of users coming from a search engine was almost equal to everything else put together!! This started me realise the value of SEO.

All of the sites I make are in Drupal and I found two great resources that really got me on my way with SEO for this site. The first was DevBee and the second was on Blamcast. Check them out!

I'll check back in the search engines in a couple of days and see how successful the changes I've made have been and will post an update.
